Nothing much. I like coming up with random fairytale ideas. The Journey of the Night Princess and is story about a princess that keeps being followed by the moon. She wants to see the sun
once in her life so a swan in a near pond tells her he's the fastest bird in
the kingdom and that he can outrun the moon if she rides with him. So she
does. =)

Title of Piece: "O' Christmas Tree!
Medium: Watercolor
Size of Piece: 2 ˝ x 3
Your inspiration for the piece:

I am always inspired by Michigan's wintry pieces of art. I have only to gaze outside my window to see a fairy wonderland of crystallized trees and snow-painted evergreens. These visions of earthly beauty always inspire me to put brush to paper and attempt to capture their magic.

Title of Piece: "I'm Wyntyr.....and I've arrived!"
Medium: Watercolor and gouache
Size of Piece: 12" X 17"
Your inspiration for the piece:

I love the magic of the season's first snow, it always feels very ceremonious, as though it deserves a special announcement.  I combined that feeling with the story of Wynter, a snow faery, daughter of Father Frost who is the Russian counterpart to our Father Christmas.  Winter does not arrive until Wyntyr SAYS it's arrived!

"A Faerie Angel watches with anticipation as she carefully releases a beautiful bird long kept captive by a callous soul. Her eyes betray inner visions of her own past trials and tribulations, as she remembers the long road of discovery that shattered her bonds and taught her the exultation of Freedom..."

This is a milestone piece for me. I feel that my technique and process are coming to fruition, and my current pieces, like this one, are laying the groundwork for all of my future work. In addition, this is my largest watercolor piece to date, with the original measuring 13" x 24" (on 140lb coldpress).

Title of Piece: Of Wisdom & War: Athena
Medium: Acrylic on canvas pad
Size of Piece: 9in. x 12 in.
Your inspiration for the piece:

I was thinking of my dear friend, Zohra, one day while at work in the garden shop. It was a slow afternoon and to pass the remaining time I started sketching on scrap paper. A regal Athena-esque figure emerged and this is the canvas translation. While it looks nothing like her, the
wisdom attributed to the goddess is what still reminds me of my friend. Even so, the painting seems to take on a life of her own. And the owl is just too adorable!

Title of Piece: Fairy Dust
Medium:
Size of Piece: 3.5" x 2.5"
Inspiration for the piece:

Fairies are a wonderful gift.  They spread their sparkling dust around to help us with our every day life.  They make us sleepy when we need rest and they make us giddy when we want to have fun!  This piece was done for our FAE Forum Art Card Swap that we are doing every month.  It is my very first Art Card and it was fun to do.  I am looking forward to doing more of these little cards.

Here at Autumn Moon, we are striving towards a goal of having an actual art gallery and gift shop right here in Michigan.  If you are interested in making a donation to help further this goal, all donations are welcomed and very much appreciated.  Every dollar counts.  The money that is donated will be put into an account just for the galleryYou will then be mailed a certificate of appreciation and logged into the "I Made A Difference" book that will be displayed when the gallery opens.  If you are interested in becoming a silent partner of the gallery, please email us with your information at christina@autumn-moon.com.  Thank you for your support!
